Day 7: Two Worlds

Waverly and Bethel! My two worlds.
After two weeks of being at home I ventured 3 hours north to St. Paul MN.
The transition between my two worlds is always some what rocky.

It is good to be back, I guess.

I am having to adapt faster than ever before
Stretched in new ways.
Pulled this way and that...
A strange storm that came out of nowhere
For a moment I stand in the middle, in the eye of the storm
everything is still, nothing moves
I stand watch and listen forgetting to breathe

the moment is gone launching me back into the storm

And when the wind stops blowing and the storm calms down,
Will I still be the same?
No.
Will I still be me?

Day 5: Two steps behind

And here we are again...
Almost 11:20pm and I can not come up with a good idea for my blog post!
One of the main reasons for this blog was trying to get past my Writer's Block...
I have been thinking all day for a great theme but alas I have nothing
so now this post has turned into my lack of an idea...
and an over use of the ellipsis...

maybe one day I will be caught up...

Day 4: How to Grow an Apple Tree

1) Eat an Apple:
Be sure to eat the type of apple you wish your tree to be

Ex. If you want a Red Delicious Apple Tree, then eat a Red Delicious apple
If you want a Granny Smith Apple Tree, then eat a Granny Smith Apple

2) Find any random container

3) Put some dirt in to the container

4) Place the seeds from the apple core in the dirt

5) Throw some dirt over the seeds

6) Water every once in a while

7) Forget to water the seeds

8) Lose hope and forget you're even trying to grow an apple tree

9) Go on with life

10) Randomly find your little apple tree thriving

11) Love gardening and say you have a 'green thumb'

Day 3: Filler

When there is nothing to say

A jumble of words can be used

Or place sporadically to ensure that

The space is not so hollow.

What can be said when there is

nothing to say?

Sometimes, everything

Sometimes...

Day 2: All I Can Be is Me

All throughout my childhood I longed to be somebody else,
Cinderella, Rapunzel, Sleeping Beauty...     See a pattern?
I wanted to be a Princess!
Live in a castle, wear beautiful dresses, marry a prince.

Whenever my siblings and I would watch a movie we would "call" being some one in the movie.
So for that whole movie we "were" them.  If that makes any sense at all, because it made perfect sense to us.

Sometimes even to this day we "call" who we are in the movie but it wasn't until recently when we were riding home from the movie Frozen that I let the juvenile words slip from my mouth,

"I wish I was her," referring to a princess in the movie

Where as my mother answered,"You can't be anyone but yourself."

It was like some one took a mirror and put it in front of my face,
reminding myself that I am here.
I am here, and I can not change the fact that I am me.

Of course I can dream, but I will dream for me

Not for Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel or Cinderella

but for me.

Because all I can be is me.

Day 1: Ready to be Me

2014, I am Ready!!!

I have no idea what is coming I am ready to be unprepared.

New years resolutions?  Maybe not

But, this year

I will eat one apple every day

I will try soy milk

I will not gain my freshmen 15

I will perform my poetry again

I will adopt a kitten

I will be myself

I will be surprised

I will be spontaneous

Beautiful, hopeful, prayerful, me

This year I will be me. Every day.
